Travellers going to Nigeria on business must apply for business visas before their departure from their country of residence.
Please also note information about health and vaccinations for visitors to Nigeria. Nigerian health authorities recommend vaccination against cholera and yellow fever from all visitors. Anti-malaria prophylactic is also highly recommended.

Letter of Invitation from Nigeria | Invitation letter from Nigerian company / organisation is required. The letter must be on the company letterhead addressed to the Visa Section, Nigeria High Commission. The letter must state that the inviter accepts full immigration responsibilities. |
Letter from the applicant's employer | Letter from the applicant’s employer in the United Kingdom is required. The letter must be company letterhead stating the current immigration and employment status of the applicant. The employer must confirm, they are aware of the trip to Nigeria. |
Non UK – nationals | You are required to provide your residence permit (EU passport, work permit/visa), proof of address in the UK (recent utility bill, bank statement, letter from your employer confirming your employment in the UK). |
Nigeria issues tourist visas to foreign nationals who intend to visit the country exclusively for tourism-related activities.
In order to get these visas, the British applicant should submit the documents mentioned below.
-The British citizen should submit an original signed passport. This passport should have a minimum validity of six months, and two blank pages for markings. If the validity of your passport is less than six months, it is highly recommended to renew it before submitting the application.
-All applicants should submit copy of round-trip flight tickets or the full version of the itinerary. Please note that the itinerary should be sent directly by the airline company.
-Original copies of the applicant’s last three months bank statements should be submitted. The submitted bank statements should show a minimum £500 in credit.-
-As the proof of accommodation, the applicant should submit copy of confirmed hotel room booking reservations. This proof of accommodation should show the name of the applicant, name of the hotel and its address.
-If the applicant is self-employed, he or she must provide a letter stating the purpose of the trip, addressed to ‘High Commission of Nigeria, 9 Northumberland Avenue, Westminster, London WC2N 5BX’.
-The applicant is required to submit all previous passports. If you have lost any of your old passports, you should write a letter addressed to ‘High Commission of Nigeria, 9 Northumberland Avenue, Westminster, London WC2N 5BX’, citing the reason of old passport non submission.
